COHASSET — The following is a statement from Chief William Quigley:

“Cohasset Police, with the assistance of the Massachusetts State Police, Massachusetts Environmental Police, and resources from Metro-LEC and surrounding communities, located the body of a 56-year-old Quincy man shortly before 11 a.m. today, near Lily Pond, in Cohasset.

The man was reported overdue and missing from a hunting trip by family members Saturday evening.  An exhaustive search by ground and air ensued for over 12-hours.

Although foul play is not suspected, the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner and Troopers from the Norfolk District Attorney’s Office are assisting Cohasset Detectives with the investigation.

We extend our deepest condolences to the family of the deceased and thank our mutual aid partners for their assistance with the search.”
