FOR RENEWAL APPLICATIONS FOR A LICENSE PREVIOUSLY ISSUED BY THE COHASSET POLICE DEPARTMENT

For renewal applications that were issued from a different licensing authority, see New Firearms License.

Submit the following to FirearmsLicense@cohassetpolicema.gov or mail/drop off to Cohasset Police Headquarters:

  1. Instructions and Requirements for Firearms Licensing Cover Sheet
  2. Completed Commonwealth of Massachusetts Resident LTC/FID/Machine Gun Application
    • Complete the Massachusetts License to Carry (LTC)/Firearms Identification Card (FID) Affidavit on page 4.
  3. Two reference letters written and signed by adults who are not family relatives to the applicant or a police officer or elected official.
  4. Proof of United States citizenship
  5. Proof of Cohasset residency
    • Or proof of business OWNERSHIP within the Town of Cohasset
  6. A check payable to “Town of Cohasset”

Schedule an appointment for fingerprints

  • Bring a government issued photo ID and proof of residency
