FOR FIRST TIME APPLICANTS AND FOR APPLICANTS WITH CURRENT LICENSE NOT ISSUED BY THE TOWN OF COHASSET

Submit the following to FirearmsLicense@cohassetpolicema.gov or mail/drop off to Cohasset Police Headquarters:

  1. Instructions and Requirements for Firearms Licensing Cover Sheet
  2. Completed Commonwealth of Massachusetts Resident LTC/FID/Machine Gun Application
  3. Two reference letters written and signed by adults who are not family relatives to the applicant or a police officer or elected official.
  4. A Massachusetts Basic Firearms Safety Course Certificate
  5. Proof of United States citizenship
  6. Proof of Cohasset residency
    • Or proof of business OWNERSHIP within the Town of Cohasset
  7. A check payable to “Town of Cohasset”

Schedule an appointment for fingerprints

  • Bring a government issued photo ID and proof of residency
