The Cohasset Police Department shares the following statement from the Norfolk District Attorney’s Office regarding Ana Walshe:

“Please click here if you wish to view/use a video of Norfolk District Attorney Michael W. Morrissey announce the issuance of a murder warrant in the death of Ana Walshe, 39, missing from Cohasset since on or about New Year’s Day.
The warrant was issued from Quincy District Court today January 17, 2023; the arraignment may be as soon as 9 a.m. tomorrow dependent on defense attorney availability. NDAO will forward arraignment date when confirmed. Thank you.”

Cohasset Fire Department Responds to Two-Alarm House Fire

COHASSET — Chief John Dockray reports that the Cohasset Fire Department responded to a two-alarm fire at a home on Jerusalem Road Friday afternoon. 

At 2:14 p.m., Cohasset Fire and Police were dispatched to 725 Jerusalem Road for a report of a fire. Upon arrival, firefighters observed smoke coming from the attic of the home. Cohasset crews struck a second alarm shortly after arriving on scene. 

The four occupants of the home  — three adults and a young child —  safely escaped prior to first responders’ arrival. There were no injuries. 

Hull, Scituate and Hingham Fire provided mutual aid support on-scene, while Norwell Fire provided station coverage. 

The cause of the fire is undetermined at this time and remains under investigation by the Office of the State Fire Marshal and Cohasset Police, though it does not appear to be suspicious.

Cohasset Police Seeking Missing 39-Year-Old Woman, Last Seen Early New Year’s Day

Ana Walshe, age 39, was last seen at her home in Cohasset shortly after midnight on New Year's Day.COHASSET — Chief William Quigley reports that the Cohasset Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance in locating a missing resident who was last seen in the early morning hours of Jan. 1.

Ana Walshe, age 39, was last seen at her home in Cohasset shortly after midnight on New Year’s Day.

Walshe stands 5’2″ and weighs 115 pounds. She has brown hair, brown eyes and has an olive complexion. It is believed that she speaks with an Eastern European accent.

*UPDATE* Cohasset Police Charge Visiting Player Who Allegedly Assaulted Referee During High School Basketball Game

COHASSET — Chief William Quigley reports that the Cohasset Police Department has filed a criminal charge against a visiting player who allegedly assaulted a referee at a Cohasset High School boys basketball game on Wednesday.

As the result of the Cohasset Police Department’s investigation, a 16-year-old male has been charged with one count of Assault and Battery (misdemeanor) and will be scheduled to appear in Quincy Juvenile Court for a show cause hearing at a later date.

On Wednesday, Dec. 28, at approximately 6:45 p.m., officers responded to the gymnasium at Cohasset High School for a report of an assault during a Cohasset boys basketball game against Excel High School from Boston.

The investigation indicates that the 16-year-old player allegedly punched a referee in the face during the game. The game was immediately canceled and the gym was cleared.

The referee did not require medical attention. There was no further altercation and no Cohasset players were involved.

Because the suspect in this case is a juvenile, no further information will be provided.

These are allegations. All suspects are innocent until proven guilty.

Cohasset Police Investigating After Referee Assaulted During High School Basketball Game

COHASSET — Chief William Quigley reports that the Cohasset Police Department is investigating after a referee at a Cohasset High School boys basketball game was allegedly assaulted by a visiting player.

At approximately 6:45 p.m., Cohasset Police were called to the gymnasium at Cohasset High School for a report of an assault. The Cohasset boys basketball team was playing a game against Excel High School from Boston.

The initial investigation indicates that a 17-year-old player from Excel High School punched a referee in the face during the game.

The game was immediately cancelled and the gym was cleared.

The referee did not require medical attention. There was no further altercation and no Cohasset players were involved.

The incident remains under investigation by the Cohasset Police Department.

“There is no place for violence of any kind in a school and we are thankful that the victim in this incident was not seriously injured,” Chief Quigley said. “We have identified the student-athlete allegedly involved in this incident and the matter remains under investigation.”

No further information is available at this time.
